Why not join us for a fun social evening of backgammon on Thursdays from 7:00pm onwards with play starting at 7:15pm. 

All standards are welcome, from beginners to champions.

We are a UK Backgammon Federation registered club, with all competitive matches counting towards National Rankings. 

Members participate in tournaments up and down the country in some cases abroad, also in the NW League and UKBGF Online league. (See the Roll of Honour below highlighting some of our members' successes. across the country and further afield.)

The club also competes in the UKBGF Club Championships and will be sending a Team (of 5) to the next event at York University on Sunday 27th July.

We run a six monthly 1 -point championship (1st Thursday) and a

3 -point championship (3rd Thursday). The winner of each league will go forward to the end of year playoffs to find the overall Club Champion.

We also have 4 x 11 point leagues running for a 6 month season after  which promotions/relegations will take place and then after every succeeding 6 month season. New players would join the lowest league and seek to work their way up through promotions every 6 months. Matches may be played any time during the week at an agreed venue away from club premises or on club nights on the 2nd/5th Thursday or after the Masterclass discussion sessions (4th Thursday) to determine best moves on various positions and rolls.

At various times on the 2nd/4th Thursdays some members will meet up just for social games so if you're new to the game or perhaps just want to learn how to play these nights may be a good place to start.
